On Thursday the 13th June we had an amazing time hosting our first ever Women in Construction Event.
We invited women into the academy to get a glimpse of some roles on offer within our industry. Those attending on the day had opportunity to speak with like-minded individuals eager to see what our sector has to offer, have a plant machinery driving experience.
Mental Health Talks by Hercules Site Services H&S Manager Kassandra and Menopause talks by WEA’s Aliana Allen. As well as Claudette offering steel fixing demonstations.
The conversations that were had throughout the day were spectacular and we hope to have broken down some myths and barriers about women in the industry.
Huge thanks to City and Guilds who covered the catering for this event, our team at Hercules Site Services who came to support, NOCN group, and the local hospital who sent nurses giving free health checks.
Honorable mention to Morrisons who supplied feminine products for our gift bags!
This really was an amazing event, and the turnout was better than we could have hoped, with all the positive feedback we received, we will definitely be hosting another one in the near future.. Stay Tuned!!!
